Following My True Nature: How Yoga, Life, and Love Led Me Here

Every one of us is on a journey home—to our true nature. Sometimes that journey is clear and easeful, and sometimes it winds through detours, doubts, and divine redirections. My path has included all of the above. From an engineer-in-training to a yoga teacher, studio owner, mother, and now app creator, every chapter has been an invitation to live more aligned with the truth of who I am and why I’m here.

From Overwhelm to Awakening

I first discovered yoga during my year abroad in college. Far from home and navigating unfamiliar terrain, yoga became my lifeline—something that helped me feel grounded, present, and whole. When I returned for my senior year, life turned into a whirlwind: 18 credit hours, three part-time jobs, a long-distance engagement, and a heart determined to hold it all together.

I had started out as a Chemical Engineering major, following in the footsteps of my father and favorite high school teacher. My heart didn’t choose that path—they did. And while Economics wasn’t exactly a heart-led decision either, it was a step closer to alignment. Through it all, yoga was my anchor. It reminded me to breathe, to pause, and to connect with the part of myself that existed beyond the busyness.

I didn’t have the words Shiva and Shakti in my vocabulary yet, but the seeds were planted. I was beginning to feel the subtle pull between logic and intuition, structure and flow—the divine balance that would eventually define my work.

A New Path in Alaska

I had space to breathe. For years I had been surviving; now I could finally explore what it meant to thrive. Yoga kept me grounded—real, reconnecting me to the part of myself that had been buried under expectations and overachievement. That feeling—the sense of coming home to myself—was so transformative that I knew I had to share it. Teaching yoga wasn’t just a career move. It was a calling.

Building a Community of Heart

At just 25, I became a SOULpreneur, opening my first yoga studio in the Denver Metro area. I had no business background, just a deep desire to serve and a willingness to learn everything along the way. I poured my heart into creating a space where people could heal, grow, and belong.

Leading that community was both sacred and humbling. I saw the best in people, and while that open-heartedness often served me, it also left me vulnerable. I learned about trust, boundaries, leadership, and resilience in the most human of ways. There were seasons of great joy and moments of deep disappointment. At times, I paid my staff more than myself, trusting that love and purpose would carry me through.

After seven years, I closed my first studio and—two months later—opened another with a renewed vision. It was equal parts passion and madness. That second studio thrived for nearly a decade, right up until early 2020. Three weeks before the world shut down, I sold it. Looking back, I can only call that divine timing.

The Great Pause and Feminine Reclamation

Letting go of my studio was both liberating and heartbreaking. For years, I had led from the heart, and while that was beautiful, it also left me exhausted. I carried a sense of guilt for “abandoning” my community, even though my spirit knew it was time. The pause of COVID became a sacred invitation to reset—to return to myself once again.

I meditated daily. I rested. I healed. I began a new coaching practice rooted in the Five Koshas, helping others integrate body, mind, and spirit. And as the world quieted, the Divine Feminine grew louder. She had been whispering to me since the late 2000s, but during that stillness, her voice became undeniable. She asked me to release the old patterns of overgiving and to rise into the balanced power she had been preparing me for all along.

Coming Home to True Nature

When life began to open again, I felt drawn to teach in a space that reflected the beauty, peace, and consciousness I had cultivated within. True Nature Healing Arts was that place. In 2022, I was honored to take over a beloved class from one of the founders, Deva, as she prepared to move to Costa Rica. Being hand-selected to carry her energy forward felt like a blessing and confirmation from Spirit.

True Nature is a place I might have designed myself if I’d had limitless funds—a sanctuary that feels alive, sacred, and intentional. Teaching there has been a full-circle homecoming. I share from the feminine perspective, inviting students to listen to their own Shakti, intuition, and inner wisdom as they move. Every class is a living, breathing ritual—woven with mantra, movement, and heart. And I must admit, it’s a gift to simply show up and teach without having to handle all the backend logistics of running a studio.

The SOULutions App: Living Yoga in the Modern World

All of these experiences—every challenge, every blessing—have led me to where I am today. The SOULutions App is the natural extension of my path, a digital temple where anyone can access yoga, meditation, goddess wisdom, and holistic healing in one sacred space.

It’s not just an app; it’s a movement. A way for people to stay connected to presence, to remember who they are, and to live soulfully—guided by love, rooted in truth.

Creating this platform feels like weaving together everything I’ve learned about both spirit and real life. It’s where my devotion meets innovation. This is how I live my dharma now—by bridging ancient wisdom with modern accessibility, by letting love lead the way.

Coming Home, Again and Again

Looking back, I can see the divine choreography in it all. From Alaska’s stillness to Denver’s hustle, from running studios to releasing them, every moment has been a step closer to my true nature.

Yoga taught me that life isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s about letting love lead, even when the path curves in unexpected ways.

“Every step of this journey has guided me home to my true nature—and to the love that connects us all.”
