Mantras for Mamas
Lyrics & Sanskrit Translations

Sacred mantras for pregnancy, motherhood, birth, and the Divine Feminine within.

Mantras for Mamas Album for Pregnancy, motherhood, and life by Mindy Arbuckle

Listen on your favorite streaming platform.

These mantras were created as heart-medicine for motherhood — offering peace, grounding, strength, and unconditional love. The Sanskrit mantras themselves are ancient, yet they apply to today’s world and the realities of modern motherhood with striking clarity. I love honoring their long-held vibration, lineage, and the sacred tradition that has supported humanity for thousands of years.

I’ve added my own creative expression to each mantra, blending the original Sanskrit with English lyrics that arose from my own lived experience. Though the English is minimal, every word was chosen with devotion and intention — offered as a bridge between ancient wisdom and your present-moment journey.

Below you’ll find the full lyrics and translations so you can chant, sing, and carry these sacred sounds into your daily rituals, birth journey, or bedtime lullabies.

May these mantras soften your edges, steady your heart, and guide you home to the mother within.

🌸 The Story Behind the Music

For every mother who is learning to soften, surrender, and remember who she truly is.

Mindy has always been a singer — a girl who found refuge in harmony, choir rooms, and the quiet joy of letting her voice rise. And like so many women, she learned early to strive, to perfect, to prove. In college, she sang her heart out… and then silenced herself, believing that her voice had to meet impossible standards before it was worthy of being heard.

Motherhood changed that.

Pregnancy, birth, and the wild tenderness of raising children softened her edges and cracked her open. As she surrendered layers of perfectionism, mantra entered her life — first as a whisper, then as a lifeline, then as a calling. These ancient sounds began steadying her mind, softening her heart, and reminding her of a deeper truth: she didn’t have to do it all; she simply had to be herself.

In 2016, on a retreat that felt like coming home, she was inspired to buy her first harmonium.

It was a spark.
A doorway.
A return.

Writing and creating music became a devotional practice — a place where she could weave the old with the new, offering Sanskrit mantras in their sacred integrity while adding her own lived experience as a mother, teacher, and spiritual guide. Over time, these mantras transformed into songs — tender, fierce, healing, and alive.

This album was born from that journey.

And woven through that journey were her daughters — unexpected mirrors, teachers, and reminders of what truly matters. Through them, she learned that love expands us, stretches us, cracks us open, and then gathers us back together again. Much of this music carries the imprint of that devotion, that surrender, and that remembering.

It is for the mother who feels like she must hold everything together.
For the woman who doubts her enough-ness.
For the one who gives endlessly and forgets she is held too.

These mantras are here to remind you:

You are already the love, the peace, the joy you seek.
Your wholeness has never left you.

May this music help you soften the grip of perfection.
May it support you through pregnancy, birth, motherhood, and every rebirth that comes after.
May it help you return to the woman beneath the roles.
May it help you remember your own sacred voice.

“I hope this music will help women all over the world tune into themselves and the sacred journey of motherhood.”

Zella and Kevra Arbuckle

These sweet souls — my greatest teachers in love, devotion, and surrender — are the reason these mantras were born. Motherhood reshaped me, softened me, stretched me, and called me deeper into the Divine. Every note I sing carries a piece of the journey we’ve walked together.

Asatoma: Darkness to Light

Om asato mā sadgamaya, Om asato mā sadgamaya
tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya
mrityormā, mrityormā amritam gamaya,
mrityormā, mrityormā amritam gamaya

Asatoma is a mantra for realizing peace in our everyday lives. When we get stuck in the muck of this world, it reminds us we are so much more. This mantra offers a path out of the darkness into the light. When we connect with our infinite peace and unity, we are led from the unreal to the real. Life can offer what feels like poison, yet there is so much sweetness to be found by shifting our perspective. May you find everlasting peace in all you do.

Purnamada: From Fullness to Fullness

Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Purnat Purnamudachyate
Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnamevavashisyate
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Purnamada taps us into the truth of who we are-on the deepest level, we are always whole and complete. We have nothing to prove, nothing to hide from. We are right, just as we are. Life will change around us, and our heart’s will still be full, no matter how much we give or receive.

Hrim Shrim Klim: The Heart's Dance

Hrim Hrim Hrim
Shrim Shrim Shrim
Klim Klim Klim
Namah Shivaya
Jai Ma Jai Ma Jai Ma Jai Ma Ma Ma

This groovy gospel influenced song shares a mantra of love, abundance and transformation.

Hrim is the bija (seed sound) mantra of the heart.

Shrim is the bija for abundance.

Klim is the bija that attracts.

Namah Shivaya is a mantra of transformation that helps us to release what no longer serves.

This mantra calls in the mama and papa energies so they can dance together in harmony and love.

Aham Prema: I am Divine Love

Aham Prema Aham Prema Aham Prema
Om Mata Om (Mother)
Aham Prema Aham Prema Aham Prema
Om Bala Om (Child)
Aham Prema Aham Prema Aham Prema
Om Shanti Om Shanti Om (Peace)
I am Divine, Divine Love

An ode to the love between mother and child and the eternal love that unites us all. By honoring the deep truth of love within, we realize that we too are filled with peace. With love all things are possible.

Motherhood changes a woman — it stretches her heart, her energy, and her capacity to hold life in all its messiness and magnificence. This Devi Prayer to Lalita Devi honors that expansion. Lalita, in her infinite expressions, awakens the dormant energies within us so we can navigate the highs, lows, and constant transformations of motherhood with grace, joy, and wonder.

By calling upon a wide constellation of goddesses, this invocation reflects the many faces of the mother: the nurturer, the protector, the creator, the fierce advocate, the wise guide, the sensual being, and the one who meets every moment with love. Through her sweetness, playfulness, and sovereign feminine power, Lalita helps you see beauty where you once saw burden, magic where you once felt heaviness, and possibility where you once felt limitation.

This mantra is filled with passion and a potent longing — a desire to know ourselves more deeply, to meet life more fully, and to embody the Divine Mother within us.

May chanting it remind you that you are never alone, and that every challenge and every joy is held in the vast, radiant heart of Lalita Devi.
