From Lion’s Gate to Eclipse Season: Release the Outcome, Integrate the Becoming

Lion’s Gate was the opening.
The eclipse is the threshold that follows.
And eclipse season becomes the integration.
Over the past week, I’ve been sharing the Lion’s Gate journey through the lens of:
Release · Reclaim · Receive · Rise
We used the 8/8 portal to become conscious of what we are ready to set down, what we want to reclaim, what we are willing to receive, and what aligned actions we are ready to take.
If you missed that teaching, you can begin with my previous Lion’s Gate post and the meditation + ritual workbook inside the SOULutions App.
And now another celestial moment arrives.
On August 12, a total solar eclipse occurs with the New Moon, just as the Lion’s Gate season traditionally comes to a close. The path of totality crosses Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia, and a small part of Portugal; Colorado will not see the eclipse, and most of North America will not experience totality.
Energetically, I don’t experience this as the Lion’s Gate simply switching off.
I experience it as a seal.
The portal may have shown you what is possible.
The eclipse asks:
Are you willing to become the person who can actually live it?
Lion’s Gate Was the Opening. What Happens Next?
Lion’s Gate invited us to become conscious of what we are ready to release, what we want to reclaim, what we are willing to receive, and how we are ready to rise through aligned action.
And the journey doesn’t end on 8/8.
In many ways, that is where it begins.
The portal may have shown you what is possible.
The days that follow ask you to participate in making it real.
And the eclipses invite an even deeper process of surrender, embodiment, and release.
This year, I see the journey unfolding like this:
8/8 Lion's Gate Peaks — Declare.
What am I choosing?
What truth, desire, or possibility am I finally willing to name?
8/9–8/11 The Gate Completes — Act.
What concrete step demonstrates that choice?
How can I show life that I am willing to participate in what I say I want?
Eclipse Season Begins
8/12 Solar Eclipse — Surrender + Seal.
What am I no longer willing to return to?
What can I now release into the hands of something greater?
This is where the Lion’s Gate journey gains another essential movement:
Release. Reclaim. Receive. Rise. Surrender.
And I want to emphasize this one.
Surrender is not giving up.
It is what comes after we have listened, chosen, and acted.
It is releasing our demand that life unfold according to the exact picture we have created in our minds.
We can set a powerful intention and then quietly turn it into another form of control:
I’ve done the ritual.
I took the action.
I asked for what I want.
So when is it coming?
The solar eclipse asks us to unclench.
To open our hands.
To stop staring so intently at the door we expect something to walk through that we miss what is arriving from somewhere else.
You have done what was yours to do.
Now let life participate too.
I have released what was never mine. I have remembered what is true. I have taken the step that was mine to take. Now I release the outcome and allow life to meet me.
And then comes a quieter phase.
8/13–8/27 Space Between Eclipses — Integrate.
How am I actually living what I chose?
This space between eclipses is not empty.
It is where the new pattern gets practiced.
Where the boundary gets held a second time.
Where receiving may feel uncomfortable and you choose to remain open anyway.
Where the courageous decision you made during Lion’s Gate becomes an ordinary Tuesday choice.
Where you notice yourself slipping toward an old identity and lovingly choose again.
Integration is how an energetic experience becomes a life.
Rather than constantly asking,
What else do I need to release?
What else do I need to manifest?
this is a time to notice:
What has already changed?
What needs repetition rather than another revelation?
Where am I being asked to trust the new pattern long enough for it to become familiar?
This is the part of transformation we sometimes skip.
We love the breakthrough.
We love the portal.
We love the insight.
And embodiment happens afterward.
In the choices no one applauds.
In the conversations.
In the bank account.
In the rest we finally allow.
In the support we stop refusing.
In the way we speak to ourselves when an old pattern comes knocking.
Then comes the second eclipse.
8/27–8/28 Lunar Eclipse — Release the Residue + Complete.
What remains emotionally attached to the person or pattern I have already chosen to leave behind?
A lunar eclipse gives us a different symbolic invitation than a solar eclipse.
The solar eclipse asks us to surrender the identity and our attachment to controlling what comes next.
The lunar eclipse can help us notice the emotional residue that remains afterward.
Because making a new choice does not mean every feeling connected to the old one instantly disappears.
You can know a relationship is complete and still grieve it.
You can know a boundary is necessary and still feel guilty.
You can choose greater abundance and still feel the old fear around money rise.
You can reclaim your voice and still feel the impulse to make yourself easier for everyone else.
You can step into a new identity while parts of you still ache for the safety of the familiar.
That doesn’t mean you chose incorrectly.
It means you are integrating.
The lunar eclipse becomes an opportunity to ask:
What feeling am I still carrying from something that is already complete?
What loyalty, guilt, grief, resentment, fear, or attachment no longer needs to come with me?
Can I honor what this chapter gave me without continuing to live inside it?
This is release at a subtler level.
Lion’s Gate may have helped you put down the suitcase.
The lunar eclipse asks you to empty the things you unknowingly left in your pockets.
Not through force.
Not through declaring every difficult feeling “low vibration.”
By allowing yourself to feel what is still there—and letting it move.
And then the full arc becomes:
Release.
Reclaim.
Receive.
Rise.
Surrender.
Integrate.
Release creates space.
Reclaim restores truth.
Receive opens the hands.
Rise turns knowing into action.
Surrender releases control.
Integration makes the becoming real.
The solar eclipse seals the choice.
The weeks between teach you how to live it.
The lunar eclipse helps clear the emotional residue so you can carry less of the old world into the new one.
The portal closes. The becoming continues.
And that, to me, is where the real spiritual work begins.
August 12: When the Light Goes Dark
A solar eclipse happens during a New Moon, when the Moon moves between Earth and the Sun and temporarily obscures the Sun from view along part of Earth. On August 12, the eclipse reaches totality along a relatively narrow path, while other regions experience a partial eclipse or no visible eclipse at all.
Astronomically, that is what is happening.
Energetically, I love the symbolism.
The Sun represents illumination.
Visibility.
Life force.
Identity.
And during an eclipse, the light we normally rely upon is temporarily hidden.
Not destroyed.
Hidden.
That distinction matters.
The eclipse can become a sacred pause in which our normal orientation is interrupted long enough for us to hear something quieter beneath it.
And because this eclipse coincides with a New Moon, the symbolism becomes even richer.
New Moons traditionally invite intention, beginnings, inward listening, and planting seeds.
The eclipse adds shadow.
Mystery.
Surrender.
A temporary absence of certainty.
It becomes less:
What can I make happen?
And more:
What is life asking me to become available for?
The Missing Fifth Movement: Surrender
Manifestation can become another form of control if we aren’t careful.
We do the ritual.
Write the intention.
Visualize the desire.
Take the action.
Then start looking around:
Okay. Where is it?
Why hasn’t it happened yet?
Did I do something wrong?
Do I need to manifest harder?
And suddenly our beautiful intention has become another thing to grip.
The eclipse offers a counterbalance.
It says:
Good. You acted. Now open your hands.
Let life respond.
Your responsibility is alignment and participation.
You do not have to orchestrate every detail of how the answer arrives.
There are moments when action is sacred.
And there are moments when receptivity is sacred.
The deeper practice is learning to recognize which moment you are in.
This eclipse feels like an invitation into the second.
Release the demand that your manifestation arrive in exactly the form you imagined.
Release the timeline.
Release the insistence that you already know the best possible outcome.
And become curious.
What if life knows a way forward that I cannot yet see?
What Identity Is Ready to Be Eclipsed?
There is another layer I find especially powerful because this solar eclipse occurs during Leo season.
Leo asks us to shine.
To create.
To lead from the heart.
To be seen.
An eclipse of the Sun invites an interesting question:
Which version of me has been trying to shine?
The authentic one?
Or the self that learned how to perform?
Please?
Prove?
Achieve?
Overgive?
Stay desirable?
Stay useful?
Earn belonging?
This connects directly to the Lion’s Gate meditation I created this year around the patterns we accepted before we had the wisdom to decline them.
We all take things on before we know better.
Family beliefs.
Roles.
Expectations.
Definitions of success.
Ideas about money.
Worth.
Love.
Visibility.
Safety.
Lion’s Gate helped us recognize those patterns and begin setting them down.
The eclipse can become the moment when we say:
I no longer need to generate my light through the identity that once kept me safe.
And then comes the part many of us want to rush through.
Darkness.
Not bad darkness.
Not punishment.
Womb darkness.
The liminal space between identities.
You are no longer quite who you were.
And you cannot yet fully see the person you are becoming.
That space can feel uncomfortable precisely because it is not defined.
And perhaps that is where some of our most profound becoming happens.
You do not have to rush to fill it.
You can listen.
Receive.
Wait.
Allow.
And eventually—
the light returns.
Durga at the Closing Gate
Durga has been one of my strongest spiritual companions through this Lion’s Gate.
During the portal, I felt her as the Divine Mother saying:
Be courageous.
Take the action.
Walk through the gate.
Stop giving your power away.
Move.
Now her medicine feels slightly different.
At the eclipse, Durga becomes guardian of what has been reclaimed.
She says:
Protect this.
Do not hand your new truth back to the pattern you just released.
Do not negotiate away the boundary you finally recognized.
Do not abandon your desire because someone else does not understand it.
Do not return to an old identity simply because the new one feels unfamiliar.
This is why I’ll continue working with her mantra:
Om Dum Durgayai Namaha
During Lion’s Gate, you might have chanted it for courage.
During the eclipse, try chanting it for protection and steadiness.
You might offer:
Durga, guard the truth that is being born in me. Help me release what has completed. Help me remain steady in the unknown. Protect the light I am learning to live from.
The Sacred Feminine does not always rush toward the next answer.
Sometimes She gestates.
She listens.
She allows the mystery to do some of the work.
How to Work With the August 12 Solar Eclipse
Although the eclipse itself will not be visible from Colorado, we can still use its global timing to create intentional pauses for meditation, reflection, and ritual.
The global eclipse unfolds on August 12 with these key moments translated into Mountain Time:
9:34 AM MT — first partial eclipse begins somewhere on Earth
10:58 AM MT — totality first begins somewhere on Earth
11:46 AM MT — maximum eclipse
12:34 PM MT — final location leaves totality
1:57 PM MT — final partial phase ends
Those times do not mean the eclipse will be visible in Colorado; they describe global eclipse stages expressed in our local time zone.
I’ll personally treat 11:46 AM MT as a beautiful symbolic center point.
Maybe you take five minutes.
Turn off your phone.
Go outside.
Light a candle.
Sit with your breath.
You do not have to see an eclipse to let a moment in the sky remind you to become present.
Before the maximum: Prepare
Ground yourself.
Settle your nervous system.
Ask:
What am I willing to release into the unknown?
Around 11:46 AM: Observe
Do less.
Watch what comes up.
Notice emotion, resistance, longing, fear, clarity.
Do not rush to turn every feeling into a decision.
Afterward: Release & Align
Ask:
What has become clearer because I stopped trying to control it?
Then return to the action that still feels true.
A Remarkable Day in the Sky
August 12 is especially interesting this year because several visible sky events converge.
In addition to the total solar eclipse, skywatching sources report an early-morning alignment of six planets(!) Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune along the ecliptic. Some will be visible to the unaided eye, while Uranus and Neptune generally require optical aid.
Then, after nightfall, the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak under especially dark skies because of the New Moon.
An eclipse.
A six-planet parade.
The Perseids.
One day.
Astronomically, these are separate celestial events.
Energetically?
I’m willing to call it convergence.
Not because the sky guarantees anything will happen to us.
Because moments like this invite us to pay attention.
They can remind us that timing matters.
Alignment matters.
Participation matters.
And surrender matters.
This isn’t simply something to watch.
It is something we can meet.
Through our own alignment.
Our choices.
Our actions.
And our willingness to stop holding so tightly to what is already trying to change.
Working With Eclipse Energy Without Fear
I do not approach eclipses as something to fear.
I think of them as revealing.
In the energetic traditions I work with, eclipses are often experienced as accelerators.
Things that have been quietly shifting may become harder to ignore.
A relationship.
A belief.
A commitment.
A direction.
An identity.
Something you have been anticipating may finally move.
Something you have been avoiding may ask for your attention.
And sometimes something leaves before we feel completely ready.
The invitation is not to catastrophize every disruption.
It is to become curious.
What is this showing me?
What am I trying to hold together that may already be complete?
Where am I being invited into greater alignment?
Try not to force change simply because an eclipse is happening.
Watch.
Listen.
Let what is already loosening reveal itself.
Sometimes gripping is what makes transition painful.
Open hands give us room to respond.
I also prefer to hold “karmic” language gently.
Rather than assuming every difficult event was cosmically predetermined, I use karma as a spiritual inquiry:
What pattern is completing here?
What lesson is asking to become embodied?
What choice would interrupt the repetition?
That keeps eclipse work empowering rather than fatalistic.
The Three-Part Eclipse Integration
If you have been working with the Lion’s Gate practices in the SOULutions App, you do not need to suddenly start another big spiritual project.
The next step is already waiting for you.
I created a short Eclipse Integration series with three five-minute meditations:
They were originally created for a previous eclipse season, and this year I see how perfectly they continue the Lion’s Gate journey.
Lion’s Gate asked you to choose what you are ready to strengthen.
The eclipse asks you to release your grip on how it unfolds.
Eclipse season gives you time to live into the choice.
Prepare: Make Space for the Unknown
Before the eclipse, ground.
Breathe.
Let your body know that uncertainty does not automatically mean danger.
You are not preparing for something bad to happen.
You are preparing to remain present if something shifts.
The intention is simple:
I am willing to become quiet enough to notice what is changing.
Use this meditation before August 12 or on the morning of the eclipse.
Observe: Let the Shadow Reveal
Around the eclipse itself, practice witnessing.
A solar eclipse temporarily obscures the light.
Energetically, we can let that represent the patterns, identities, fears, attachments, or truths that become easier to see when our usual certainty is interrupted.
Your job is not to immediately fix what surfaces.
Notice it.
Feel it.
Become compassionate toward it.
Ask:
What is being revealed when I stop trying to make everything make sense?
Sometimes awareness is enough for the moment.
Release & Align: Live What You Chose
After the eclipse, return to the four movements of Lion’s Gate.
What did you release?
What did you reclaim?
What did you say you were willing to receive?
What action did you commit to as you chose to rise?
And now:
What are you actually carrying forward?
Release what has completed.
Realign with what remains true.
Then continue living the choice.
This is how spiritual insight becomes embodiment.
Eclipse Season Is a Process
The August 12 solar eclipse is not the end of the story.
Two weeks later, a partial lunar eclipse arrives on August 27–28. Unlike the solar eclipse, this lunar eclipse will be visible in Colorado.
In Denver, the Moon rises around 7:29 PM MDT, the partial phase begins at 8:33 PM, maximum eclipse occurs at approximately 10:12 PM, and the eclipse concludes around 1:01 AM on August 28.
Energetically, that gives us a beautiful arc:
Solar eclipse: identity · intention · initiation
Between eclipses: observation · embodiment · lived practice
Lunar eclipse: emotional release · completion · integration
The first eclipse asks:
Who am I becoming?
The space between asks:
Will I practice being her?
The lunar eclipse asks:
What still needs to be released so I can continue?
The Portal Closes. The Becoming Continues.
This is perhaps the most important part.
We do not need endless spiritual activations.
We need to learn how to live what they reveal.
Lion’s Gate may have awakened something in you.
The eclipse may deepen it.
Eclipse season may rearrange a few things.
And eventually all of that cosmic weather has to find its way into:
Your morning.
Your relationships.
Your boundaries.
Your work.
Your bank account.
Your choices.
Your body.
Your willingness to speak.
Your willingness to receive.
Your ordinary Tuesday afternoon.
That is where the spiritual work becomes real.
Release.
Reclaim.
Receive.
Rise.
Surrender.
Integrate.
The portal closes.
The coursework in the school of your becoming continues.
And perhaps that is what all these celestial thresholds are ultimately reminding us:
The sky can illuminate the doorway.
We still have to live through it.
Inside the SOULutions App, you can continue the journey through the Lion’s Gate meditation and ritual workbook, followed by the three-part Eclipse Integration series: Prepare, Observe, and Release & Align.
And if something is moving strongly in you through this season, I’d love to hear it.
What did Lion’s Gate ask you to choose?
What are you ready to surrender at the eclipse?
And what truth are you committed to carrying into the weeks ahead?
With Light and Love,
Mindy
