Harvest, Release, Welcome: A Fall Equinox Reflection

There are moments in the year when nature seems to invite us to stop long enough to notice where we are.

The Fall Equinox is one of those thresholds.

Light and darkness come into near balance. The intensity of summer begins to soften. The natural world starts turning inward—not all at once, but gradually, honestly, in its own time.

We have rhythms like this too.

We are not meant to be constantly producing, expanding, reaching, or becoming.

There are seasons for action and seasons for receiving.

Seasons for planting and seasons for gathering.

Seasons for holding on—and seasons for letting go.

The equinox offers us a moment to listen.

Harvest

Bundle of golden wheat tied with twine standing on a rustic wooden table, symbolizing harvest, abundance, and the Fall Equinox.

Before rushing toward what comes next, look at what has already grown.

What have you created, learned, survived, healed, strengthened or understood more deeply?

Not every harvest is visible from the outside.

Sometimes the harvest is a boundary you finally learned to hold.

A little more trust in yourself.

A relationship that deepened.

A pattern you can see clearly now.

The courage to make a different choice.

Part of living in alignment is learning to recognize growth before immediately demanding more of ourselves.

Release

Woman tearing a handmade paper note that says “release” beside a lit candle, dried flowers, and autumn leaves, symbolizing letting go during a seasonal ritual.

Nature doesn't cling to everything it creates.

Leaves fall. Plants return to the earth. What has completed its purpose is allowed to change form.

We need this rhythm too.

What are you carrying simply because you've carried it for a long time?

An expectation?

A role?

A belief about yourself?

A way of working?

A commitment that no longer feels alive?

Release doesn't mean that something was wrong or meaningless.

Sometimes it simply means it is complete.

Welcome

Woman placing a handwritten note that says “welcome” into a linen journal pocket beside a glowing candle, dried flowers, and books in warm autumn light.

And then comes the quiet question:

What wants to come with you into the season ahead?

Not necessarily another list of goals.

Perhaps a quality.

More spaciousness.

More courage.

More rest.

More creativity.

More truth.

More connection.

This is where aligned action begins.

Not by forcing ourselves forward from the mind alone, but by grounding into relationship with the body, our inner wisdom, and the part of ourselves that knows what is actually true.

Then we move.

We act.

We create.

But the action arises from alignment rather than urgency.

A Fall Equinox Practice

Fall Equinox Meditation & Ritual inside SOULutions, featuring the Harvest & Release reflection guide, a phone displaying the meditation, autumn leaves, wheat, candles, and earbuds in warm golden light.

I created a new Fall Equinox Meditation + Ritual Guide inside the SOULutions App to help you move through this threshold intentionally.

We'll pause together to

  • harvest what has grown,

  • release what is complete,

  • and welcome what you want to carry forward.

And I've opened the entire practice—including the downloadable ritual guide—free through Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

You don't need to have a perfect ritual space or know exactly what you're ready to release.

Just come as you are.

Give yourself a little room to listen.

Honor your harvest.

Release what is complete.

Welcome what is ready to emerge.
