How to Honor Your Energy and Trust Your Inner Rhythm

Awakening Your Inner Sun Through Presence, Practice, and Self-Trust

There comes a point in every healing journey when clearing is no longer enough.

At first, we notice what feels heavy. We begin to release what we have outgrown. We let go of the old patterns, the pressure, the people-pleasing, the distractions, the habits that keep pulling us away from ourselves.

And then something tender begins to happen.

Space opens.

Breath returns.

A quiet inner voice begins to rise.

And we start to ask a different question:

Now that I’ve released what no longer fits, what wants to awaken within me?

This is the energy of awakening and realigning.

It is not about becoming a brand-new person. It is about remembering the self that has been waiting beneath the noise. The self who knows how to listen. The self who knows when to rest and when to rise. The self who knows what feels alive, true, nourishing, and aligned.

This week inside the spring Be More You journey, we explored what it means to stop living under pressure and begin trusting our energy and inner rhythm.

And honestly, this feels like medicine for right now.

For women.

For mothers.

For healers.

For leaders.

For sensitive souls.

For anyone who has been trying to keep up with a pace that was never designed for their wholeness.

Because the truth is simple:

You are not a machine.

You are a living, breathing, feeling, cyclical being.

Your energy rises and falls.

It expands and contracts.

It turns outward and inward.

It has seasons.

And learning to trust that rhythm is one of the most powerful ways we come back to ourselves.

The Pressure to Keep Up

So much of modern life teaches us to override ourselves.

We are expected to have the same energy every day. The same focus. The same productivity. The same availability. The same emotional capacity to give, respond, caretake, create, and show up.

And when our energy changes, we often blame ourselves.

We call ourselves lazy.

We say we are behind.

We feel guilty for needing rest.

We push through when our body is asking us to slow down.

This is what pressure does.

Pressure disconnects us from our inner rhythm. It tells us that our worth is measured by how much we can accomplish, how available we can be, and how well we can keep going even when we are depleted.

But realignment asks something different.

It asks:

What is my capacity today?

What kind of energy do I actually have?

What would support me in staying connected to myself while I move through this day?

These questions are simple, and they change everything.

They bring us out of automatic pressure and into conscious relationship with ourselves.

The Practice of Slowing Down by 10%

One of the simplest practices we explored this week was this:

What would it feel like to slow down by just 10%?

Not stop everything.

Not abandon your responsibilities.

Not collapse or avoid your life.

A woman sits peacefully by a sunlit window with one hand on her heart and the other on her abdomen, surrounded by soft neutral tones, plants, tea, and a journal, with the text “Slow Down 10%” and “The pause is sacred currency.”

Just slow down 10%.

Walk 10% slower.

Speak 10% slower.

Reach for your phone 10% less quickly.

Give yourself 10% more breath before you respond.

Move through the transition from one thing to the next with a little more awareness.

Sometimes we think change has to be dramatic to be powerful. And often, the most healing shifts are subtle.

Slowing down by 10% gives your nervous system a chance to catch up with your life.

It creates a small space between the pressure and your response. Between the demand and your yes. Between the old pattern and the new choice.

And that space is a form of currency.

It gives you something back.

It gives you breath.

It gives you presence.

It gives you clarity.

It gives you the power to choose instead of react.

This is sacred wealth.

It may not give you more hours in the day, and yet it gives you a deeper relationship with the time and energy you already have.

Your Energy Has Wisdom

When we begin to slow down, we can hear ourselves more clearly.

We start noticing what drains us, what nourishes us, and what feels neutral yet necessary.

Every conversation, task, decision, screen, obligation, and thought either spends energy, holds energy, or gives energy back.

This is not about becoming obsessive or overly analytical. It is about becoming intimate with your own life.

A woman sits in a gentle yoga twist outdoors at golden hour, with warm sunlight glowing near her abdomen to represent the solar plexus and inner fire.

Ask yourself:

What drains me?

What nourishes me?

What feels neutral, yet still necessary?

Because sometimes the things that restore us are the first things we cut when life gets full.

Our walk.

Our meditation.

Our nourishing meal.

Our creative time.

Our quiet moment.

Our breath.

And then we wonder why we feel depleted.

Honoring your energy means you stop treating your needs as optional. You begin to protect the small practices that help you return to yourself.

On a full day, this might be three deep breaths with your hands on your heart.

It might be stepping outside for one minute of sunlight.

It might be drinking a glass of water before answering another message.

It might be saying, “I need to check my capacity before I say yes.”

It might be going to bed instead of cleaning the kitchen to perfection.

This is not about doing life perfectly.

It is about staying in relationship with yourself.

From Body Signals to Inner Wisdom

Many of us have been practicing listening to the body’s signals: the sacred yes, the holy no, the opening, the tightening, the leaning forward, the pulling back.

These signals matter. They are often the first language of inner wisdom.

And this week, we went a little deeper.

Inner wisdom is not only about noticing a yes or no in the moment. It is about building a relationship with the deeper knowing that lives beneath the noise — beneath the expectations, people-pleasing, pressure, overthinking, and old stories about who we are supposed to be.

Inner wisdom often speaks softly.

It may arrive as a feeling, a phrase, an image, a memory, a sense of timing, or a simple knowing that says:

This way.

Not this anymore.

Wait.

Begin.

Rest.

Speak.

Let go.

Fear tends to be loud, repetitive, urgent, and tight.

Inner wisdom has a different quality.

Even when it asks us to do something brave, it often carries a strange kind of steadiness. It may stretch us, but it does not attack us. It may challenge us, and it does not make us feel small.

Inner wisdom feels like truth with breath around it.

A simple question can open the doorway:

What do I already know beneath the noise?

Then listen.

Not only with your ears.

Listen with your body.

Listen with your breath.

Listen with your heart.

Listen with your inner sun.

Manipura: Awakening Your Inner Sun

In the yogic tradition, the solar plexus chakra is called Manipura.

This is the energy center connected to your inner fire: confidence, vitality, will, discernment, and aligned action.

A serene, empowered woman with medium skin tone sits in meditation with warm golden light radiating from her solar plexus, symbolizing the Manipura chakra and inner power.

Manipura is located in the area above the navel and below the heart. You can think of it as your inner sun — the part of you that remembers:

I can.

I choose.

I trust myself.

I am allowed to take up space in my own life.

When this center feels dim, you may notice yourself playing small, second-guessing your choices, waiting for permission, or giving your power away to other people’s expectations.

When this center is overworked, you may notice yourself pushing, proving, controlling, or trying to force your way forward.

The practice is not to make the fire bigger through pressure.

The practice is to tend the flame.

Manipura is not about force.

It is not about proving.

It is not about domination, ego, or pushing harder.

It is about steady inner power.

Warmth.

Confidence.

Courage rooted in truth.

When this center is balanced, your fire does not burn you out. It supports you. It gives you energy to choose, act, set boundaries, trust yourself, and move in alignment with what is true.

A Simple Practice: Tend Your Inner Flame

Try this now, or return to it anytime you feel scattered, pressured, or disconnected.

Place one hand on your heart.

Place one hand on your solar plexus — the space above your navel and below your heart.

Take a slow breath in.

Imagine a golden flame glowing at your center.

With each inhale, let it brighten.

With each exhale, let pressure soften.

Begin to move gently.

Sway.

Circle.

Open your arms.

Let your ribs breathe.

Move as if you are feeding the fire with presence.

Not forcing.

Not performing.

Just tending the light within.

Ritual for the Week: Abhyanga

A woman in a soft robe sits in a peaceful bathroom, gently pouring oil onto her leg for an Abhyanga self-massage ritual, surrounded by candles, plants, towels, and warm natural light.

This week’s ritual is Abhyanga, the Ayurvedic practice of warm oil self-massage.

In Sanskrit, Abhyanga is often understood as oil massage or anointing the body. And that word anointing is important.

This is not just putting oil on your skin.

This is an act of devotion.

It is a way of saying to your body:

I am here.

I am listening.

You are worthy of care.

You are safe to soften.

You are allowed to be nourished.

Abhyanga is especially supportive when we have been moving too fast, overthinking, overgiving, or living in pressure.

The oil creates a feeling of containment. It reminds you where you begin and end. It supports your nervous system, softens scattered energy, and helps you come back into relationship with your body in a loving, nonjudgmental way.

Traditionally, the oil is warmed, and that can feel deeply soothing. And if warming the oil feels like one more step that keeps you from actually doing the practice, keep it simple.

Use room temperature oil and warm it between your hands.

You also do not need to drown yourself in oil or shower afterward unless you want to. Use enough that it absorbs into your skin after a few minutes, so you feel comfortable putting on soft clothes or curling up in bed.

The ritual is not about doing it perfectly.

It is about creating a moment of nourishment, grounding, and loving connection with the body that carries you.

Morning Attunement with Gayatri Mantra

The way you begin your morning creates an energetic imprint for the rest of your day.

A serene woman with hands over her heart stands in soft golden light beside a lake and mountains, with the Gayatri Mantra text displayed on the left.

This does not mean your morning has to be perfect. It does not mean you need a long routine, an early wake-up time, or a complicated list of practices before you are allowed to feel centered.

It simply means the first moments of the day matter.

Before the world asks for your attention, there is a small sacred window where you can return to yourself.

One beautiful way to do this is through the Gayatri Mantra, one of the most beloved and ancient mantras of the Vedic tradition.

The Gayatri Mantra is often practiced in the morning as a prayer to divine light — the light of the sun, the light of wisdom, and the light of consciousness within all beings.

Gayatri Mantra

Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha

Tat Savitur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi

Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

A simple meaning of the mantra is:

May the divine light illuminate my mind, awaken my wisdom, and guide me toward truth.

You do not need to understand every Sanskrit word perfectly in order to receive the mantra. Let the sound, rhythm, breath, and intention carry you.

You also do not need to chant for 30 minutes every day. Even a few minutes can become a powerful anchor.

I’m sharing this beautiful 30-minute version of the Gayatri Mantra by Deva Premal as a practice support:

Practice with Deva Premal’s Gayatri Mantra here: https://youtu.be/yQjHSIHPJfw?si=S06LyjTvHjtT2Lix

Before reaching for your phone, sit up in bed or find a quiet place to stand or sit.

Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your solar plexus.

Take three slow breaths.

Chant or listen to the Gayatri Mantra for a few minutes.

Then ask:

What light wants to guide me today?

Listen for a word, a feeling, a direction, or a quality of energy.

Maybe it is patience.

Maybe it is courage.

Maybe it is softness.

Maybe it is focus.'

Maybe it is trust.

Let that become your morning anchor.

What Makes You Feel Alive?

Awakening and realigning is not only about noticing what drains you.

It is also about noticing what brings you back to life.

So often, we move through our days on autopilot — tending to responsibilities, checking things off the list, meeting expectations, and keeping up with what needs to be done.

And somewhere along the way, our spark begins to dim.

Not because we are broken.

Not because we are ungrateful.

Not because we are doing life wrong.

Simply because we have been giving our energy to so many things that we may have forgotten to notice what actually nourishes it.

Ask yourself:

When did I feel most alive this week?

What small moments consistently bring me back to myself?

What environments help my energy expand?

Who helps me feel safe to be fully myself?

What am I still choosing out of obligation that no longer feels alive for me?

If no one were watching and no one would be disappointed, what would I choose more often?

Your aliveness is wise.

It is showing you where your energy wants to go.

It is showing you what helps you return to yourself.

It is showing you what your life may be asking for more of.

These are not random details.

They are golden threads leading you back to the rhythm of your true self.

The Identity Anchor: I Trust My Energy and Inner Rhythm

This week’s identity anchor is:

I trust my energy and inner rhythm.

Let that land.

Not:

I force my energy.

I prove my worth through productivity.

I keep up at any cost.

I ignore myself until I collapse.

But:

I trust my energy and inner rhythm.

This anchor is a reminder that your energy is not random.

It has wisdom.

It rises and falls.

It expands and contracts.

It turns outward and inward.

It asks for action and it asks for rest.

And none of that means you are inconsistent, lazy, undisciplined, or behind.

It means you are alive.

So as you move through your week, let this be your practice:

Notice your energy without judgment.

Slow down 10%.

Pause before rushing.

Listen for your deeper knowing.

Honor your body’s rhythm.

Nourish your inner sun.

And when the world gets loud, return to this:

I trust my energy and inner rhythm.

This is the voice of a woman who no longer needs to abandon herself to be worthy.

This is the voice of a woman learning to live from within.

This is the voice of awakening.

This is the voice of realignment.

And every time you honor it, you are casting a vote for the woman you are becoming.

Closing Reflection: Honor Your Energy

Your rhythm is not wrong.

Your body is not the obstacle.

Your energy is not something to conquer.

It is something to listen to, tend to, and trust.

May this be the week you stop treating your energy as a problem to manage and begin treating it as wisdom to honor.

May you slow down enough to hear what is true.

May you nourish the practices that restore you.

May you tend your inner sun with love.

And may you remember:

You do not have to move at the pace of the world to live a meaningful, radiant, powerful life.

You are allowed to move at the pace of your soul.

Continue the Journey

If this reflection speaks to something you’re moving through, this is exactly the kind of work we explore inside Be More You — a seasonal 4-week journey of embodied self-trust, spiritual practice, nervous system awareness, and real-life integration.

Each week offers teachings, rituals, movement, reflection, and simple practices to help you come home to yourself in a deeper way and realign with the woman you are becoming.

As you practice with this week’s teachings, I’d love to know what you notice.

What happens when you slow down by just 10%?

What do you discover when you ask, “What is my capacity today?”

What shifts when you begin your morning with mantra, breath, or a moment of light before reaching for your phone?

What does your inner wisdom show you when you give it space to speak?

Leave a comment below with your reflections, questions, or experiences. Your insight may be exactly what another woman needs to hear as she learns to trust her own energy and inner rhythm too.
